About Me

Marco Colonna is considered one of the more personal and original clarinet player on the European jazz and impro scene. He have played and recorded with Agusti Fernandez, Evan Parker, Zlatko Kauçiç , Andrew Cyrille, Mat Maneri, Roberto Ottaviano, Silvia Bolognesi, Alexander Hawkins, Michael Moore, Ralph Alessi, Samuel Blaser, Hamid Drake, Fabrizio Puglisi, Gunther “Baby” Sommer, Balazs Pandi, Giovanni Maier and so many others... His work are released for Not Two, Relarive Pitch, Fundacja Sluchaj, Dodici Lune, Klopotek, Relative Pitch, Leo Records, Folderol. A self produces series of work is on his bandcamp page, he run from 2014. He run the solidarity project NEW ETHIC SOCIETY and works also in contemporary classical and folk music, and also he compose and perform music for theatre and movies. He teach Improvisation Technic in Siena Jazz Academy.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because is my musical mom. I was first exposed to jazz when I was 8 and I bought my first record of Pee Wee Russell and I had already start playing the clarinet.
